Leading people to a better life
A Radical Transformation
Minister Karan Singh Chauhan’s journey is a powerful testament to the redeeming and transforming power of Jesus Christ. Born into a devout, high-caste Hindu family in North India, Karan grew up as a radical worshiper of Hanuman, strictly observing traditional fasts and temple rituals every Tuesday.
Despite his outward religious devotion, his youth was marked by intense inner restlessness, anger, and rebellion. He found himself constantly caught up in street fights, destructive habits, and a lifestyle of secret drinking and smoking with peers. He was a young man searching for peace in all the wrong places, unaware that God had a sovereign plan for his life.
In 1999, a simple invitation to a friend’s house changed everything. It was there that Karan encountered the Gospel for the very first time. The raw power of the Word pierced through his restlessness, and by the year 2000, he made the defining decision to surrender his life completely to Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Though he faced immediate and severe opposition from his family and relatives, his resolve remained unshaken. He chose to look forward, leaving his past behind.
From Personal Ambition to Kingdom Assignment
From early childhood, Karan’s ultimate dream was to don the uniform and serve his country in the Indian Navy. However, the moment he surrendered to Christ, his marching orders changed. He traded his naval ambitions for a higher, eternal calling. Immediately upon finishing school, he enrolled in a Bible Training School to equip himself for ministry.
- The road, however, was not without testing. Early encounters with ministry politics left him deeply heartbroken, shaking his young faith. Seeking deeper theological roots, he transitioned to a Baptist seminary, where his academic excellence shone as he topped his class in the first year. Yet, when financial constraints forced him to pause his formal theological studies, Karan did not waver. He stepped into the marketplace, trusting God's timing.
The Marketplace Catalyst: Wipro & Dell
God repurposed this season to build a unique bridge between ministry and the corporate world. Karan secured a position at Wipro, working on the AOL process. This intense corporate environment became a training ground where he sharply refined his English communication skills and gained invaluable leadership insights.
After saving diligently for a year and a half, Karan followed the promptings of the Holy Spirit and moved to Chandigarh in 2008 with a singular, audacious focus: to plant a church.
To sustain this vision in a new territory, he stepped back into the corporate arena, joining Dell in the Technical Department. Operating as a tentmaker—working a demanding tech job by Night and witnessing to people by Day—Karan saw his faithfulness rewarded. In 2010, the Lord enabled him to plant his very first church.
The Birth of a Movement
As the ministry grew, so did the demand for his time. In 2013, he formally established the Lighthouse Foundation to serve as a beacon of community transformation and holistic outreach. Recognizing that the harvest was ripening, Karan prayed for a strategic exit from the corporate world.
God answered miraculously in 2014 when Dell introduced a Voluntary Separation Program. Karan applied, stepped away from his corporate career, and received a seven-month payout that fully funded the planting of two additional churches that very year.
Since taking that step of absolute faith, the ministry has multiplied exponentially. To date, Minister Karan has established 4 primary anchor churches and approximately 65 thriving house churches across North India, serving as an apostolic father and SOG Facilitator to countless emerging leaders.
- Family & The Global Frontier
- At the heart of Minister Karan’s life is his family. In October 2012, he married his partner in purpose, Isha. Together, alongside their two sons, Joshua and Caleb, they serve the Lord faithfully from their base in Chandigarh, anchoring the Lighthouse Worship Center. But the mandate does not stop at regional borders. Having witnessed the miraculous expansion of the Gospel across North India and parts of Africa, Minister Karan carries a burning, global apostolic burden.
- With a fierce determination and an expectant heart, he is actively moving into the next frontier: planting life-giving churches among the Asian diaspora in the United States and pioneering new works in Japan. The story is far from over. God is still moving, doors are turning, and the vision is expanding to lead nations to a better life.
